Including documents & statistics
You may be asked to prove that your idea or project is needed in your local area, or that it fits with local policies or strategies. Please visit the local data section of the website for links to key documents locally, regionally and nationally such as the 'Every Child Matters' strategy, Regional Economic Strategy or the Leicestershire Local Area Agreement (LAA). You will also find links to LSORA (Leicester Shire Online Research Atlas).which can help you find statistical information about your area (e.g. population statistics, crime statistics etc).
Funders will often ask for some supporting information. This can include annual accounts or an annual report, a Business Plan, etc.
Often funders will provide a tick list at the end of an application form asking if you have included specific documents that you want. Use this as it can be very useful.
If they do not ask for additional information then think very hard before sending it out with your application. You need to be sure that the information you are sending will help the funder assess your application and that it will help them make a positive decision. Sending too much may confuse them or make them think that you have not really thought about why you are sending it. One rule of thumb is not to send any additional information unless it is asked for or unless you refer to it in your application.
