Project Description
Describing your project can seem very daunting. The thing to keep in mind is that you are trying to help the funder or sponsor get a feel for what you will actually be doing.
Where to start? Often it is a good idea to start with some background such as if you are redesigning another project to make it work better talk about the previous project, what worked and what didn't and lead onto your new project idea and how it will be different. If its a new project talk about the context from where the project idea has come from.
How long should the description be? This will depend on the application, however at this stage you could start by having a brainstorm and simply list all the things you will need to do for the project to be a success. The more you can break this down the easier it will be to write down a clear and concise description of the project. Remember to include enough details so that someone who doesn't know about your project idea can still get a picture of what it is you want to do and how you want to do it.
In addition to describing the activities it is also important to decide how much of the activities you will undertaking this is where you quantify your activities often called the "outputs". You will also want to include a timescale of activities which is also included in this section.
